Our Mission
Friends of the Garden is a volunteer-led initiative dedicated to growing fresh, nourishing food for the community.
Each season, volunteers plant, care for, and harvest vegetables from the estate gardens. All produce is donated to local organizations serving individuals and families facing food insecurity.
Together, we are cultivating a garden that gives back.
Friends of the Garden
At Tanglebank Estate, our gardens are more than beautiful spaces; they are a place where the community comes together to grow fresh food for those who need it most.
Through our Friends of the Garden volunteer program, we cultivate vegetables on the estate and donate 100% of the harvest to organizations providing meals to people experiencing food insecurity.
Growing Food. Cultivating Community.
How the Program Works
Throughout the growing season, volunteers gather weekly to maintain the vegetable gardens and harvest produce.
Activities include:
• Planting seasonal vegetables
• Watering and garden care
• Weeding and pruning
• Harvesting produce
• Preparing donations for local organizations
Every harvest is weighed and recorded so we can track the impact our volunteers are making in the community.
